ALDEN WINS TECHNOLOGY & BUSINESS AWARD

Alden Products has been named one of the winners of the seventh annual Technology & Business Awards, co-sponsored by Start magazine and Microsoft Corp. The awards recognize end-user companies and their visions for implementing technology to solve business challenges. "Alden Products is an excellent example of a manufacturer that has used an integrated IT system to bring about real, tangible benefits, including decreased throughput, lower order backlog, and a 30 percent reduction in inventory," said Start editorial director and publisher Peggy Smedley. In 2000, Alden replaced an outdated ERP system with IFS Applications, deploying IFS' applications for manufacturing, financials, quality management, workforce management, product design management, and sales force automation.
