Protecting electronic devices from harsh environments.

The instrumentation connector is a critical portal for transmitting signal, power, and data from inside the electronic enclosure to the outside world. Unfortunately it also harbors the potential to allow the outside environment to flow back in the opposite direction. Dust moisture, and debris can torment and ultimately destroy critical electronic circuitry.

A good instrumentation connector must function like a feed-through to seal out the external environment.

Because Alden's Pulse-Lok® connector is designed specifically for front-panel applications, it seemed natural to offer an IP-67 rated seal as standard equipment. An IP-67 seal will remain water tight while submersed in up to one meter of water. Critical seals are typically achieved at the connector to panel, housing to cable, and connector interfaces eliminating the potential for short circuits and leaks into the electronic enclosure.

Many Pulse-Lok® connectors are also available with shielding and filters to mitigate the equally hazardous effects of EMI, RFI, and line surges.
